BTS just broke another one of their own records!

'Permission To Dance' gives BTS fifth Billboard Hot100 number 1 single, Ed Sheeran's fourth number 1 hit as a songwriter

This time, the global superstars' latest hit 'Permission To Dance' overtook their record-breaking single, 'Dynamite,' raking in 13.49 million streams on the Spotify counter on opening day.

The feat makes 'Permission To Dance' the second-biggest Spotify counter debut of all time, following the May 2021 release, 'Butter,' which holds first place with 20.9 million streams.

BTS round up the top 3 Spotify counter debuts with 'Dynamite' - off their 2020 album, BE - clocking in 12.6 million streams on the counter on its first day of release.

The group also holds the top 2 biggest debuts on the Spotify Global Chart for 2021 with 'Butter' taking the top spot, followed by 'Permission To Dance.'

The track, co-written by Ed Sheeran, also broke 10 million YouTube views in less than an hour - making it one of BTS' fastest music videos to reach the milestone. 

Pop icon Elton John, who gets namechecked in the feel-good anthem, gives his nod of approval tweeting "When it all seems like it’s right, I sing along to BTS."
