LEGO IDEAS to launch new 'Dynamite'-themed set in tribute to BTS

LEGO's about to deliver some funk and soul.

The LEGO Review Board has unveiled the second round of fan-submitted ideas approved for official production, one of which include a brick set inspired by BTS' GRAMMY-nominated hit 'Dynamite'. The set will see the global pop in LEGO form and iconic scenes from the disco track's music video.

"We’re absolutely excited to bring BTS, one of the most popular and influential bands to life in LEGO bricks through one of their biggest hits - “Dynamite”. The South Korean band has changed the landscape of pop music and transitioned into a global phenomenon with their fun, authentic music, top-notch performances and positive messages," said the LEGO Review Board in their official announcement.

The 'Dynamite' set was designed by Josh Bretz who also goes by JBBrickFanatic and Jacob who is also known as BangtanBricks. In an interview with LEGO, the pair shared how the idea came from their love of LEGO and music.

"I am a massive fan of BTS and I wanted to combine my love for their music with my passion for LEGO. This model, in particular, is a recreation of one of their recent music videos that always cheers up my day," said Jacob.

"I watched the music video over and over and tried to capture its essence in the LEGO bricks. The most difficult part was all the little prints and mini-figure designs. The outfits each member of the group wears are so unique and iconic I knew I had to do it right," said Josh.

The official 'Dynamite' LEGO set has been approved for production and is slated to launch soon.

Since its release in August 2020, 'Dynamite' has taken the world by storm, earning BTS their first GRAMMY nomination and several other notable accolades. In July 2021, the summer hit broke into Spotify's 'Billions Club' after having earned over a billion streams, making the seven-piece the first-ever Korean act to achieve such a milestone.
