TXT showcase their growth in 'ACT: LOVESICK' Seoul concerts — gig report

It's been long overdue but over the weekend TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) held their first live concert since their debut. Kicking off their highly anticipated ACT: LOVESICK world tour, the two-day concert was held in Seoul's Jamsil Stadium and was livestreamed, powered by Kiswe, to fans all across the world.

Until this point, the most I’ve seen of TXT was their music show performances, which were barely long enough to grasp the power the quintet hold, and their variety show, TO DO TXT which focused more on their lovable personalities than anything else. So, this was the first time I would see Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai transform into the idols that the new generation of K-pop fans so dearly admired.

The moment they materialised on stage, there was a distinct fire in their eyes, that even radiated through the livestream. Suddenly, they were no longer the silly, goofy boys that only a week ago were struggling through a session of aerial yoga; and were instead, powerful performers that you couldn’t help but be in awe of.

The concert began with an incredible performance of ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’. From Soobin’s enticing charms to Yeonjun's undeniable stage presence to Beomgyu's seemingly effortless performance to Taehyun's vocal prowess to Hueningkai's booming, melodious voice, TXT were giving it their all right from the beginning, opening their long-awaited concert on an absolute high.

As the show went on, TXT performed their biggest hits like 'Blue Orangenade', 'Magic', 'PUMA', 'CROWN', 'LO$ER=LO♡ER', 'Frost', and 'Anti-Romantic' while taking audiences through the story of their growth, both as artists and people, since the start of their careers.

In three years, most of which were plagued by the pandemic, TXT's journey so far has been defined by chaos, hardships, and isolation but has also been met with relentless love, perseverance, and strength. Their entire concert was a reflection of their story, with the members retelling the saga of their lives—from struggling to find their footing to finally reuniting with their beloved MOA (TXT fans).

ACT: LOVESICK was a reminder of how much they've grown and how much more they can do.

While they're no strangers to performing, even having held their first online concert ACT: BOY last October, this was the first time that TXT took on a live stage, especially one as grand as Seoul’s Jamsil Stadium which once saw the likes of BTS and EXO. The 4th-gen K-pop act debuted in early 2019 and with only a year of experience under their belt, was forced to move into the confines of the online world, interacting and performing for their fans virtually. So, ACT: LOVESICK also marked a lot of firsts for the ‘Anti-Romantic’ act.

You can tell they were nervous but that was quickly overshadowed by pure joy. Every time the members looked to the crowd, it was evident how immensely grateful they were to finally meet their fans in person. The sincerity and happiness radiated in every aspect of the concert, whether it was their jaw-dropping performances or adorable spiels. It was especially heartwarming to see them have their first MOA ocean, a magical highlight of any K-pop concert.

They say, you never forget your first. And throughout this weekend, TXT did everything in their power to make their first major live concert worth remembering, not just for them but for their fans. It’s been a tough two years but like Soobin said on Day 1, “We’ll stay strong knowing that we’ll always be together.”

ACT: LOVESICK will continue later this July with concerts all across North America and this October as they make their way around Southeast Asia
