Catriona Gray, August Rigo, Leanne & Naara, and more: Warner Music Philippines launches GLOPM to connect local musicians with Filipino artists and producers worldwide

Warner Music Philippines is taking a large leap for Filipino artists.

On Thursday (10/07), WMP launched GLOPM (short for Global Pinoy Music), an initiative to connect local musicians, including indie-pop duo Leanne & Naara, Leyte-based rising indie act reon, Filipino rapper-songwriter Quest, and singer and beauty queen Catriona Gray with Filipino artists and producers across the globe.

For their latest offering 'Anticipation', Leanne & Naara teamed up with internationally acclaimed producer August Rigo (who's worked with the likes of BTS, One Direction, NCT Dream, Kehlani, and Justin Bieber).

"Working with Leanne & Narra had no hurdles at all," Rigo, who also pulled his friend Ricky Tillo from Lady Gaga's band to add guitars to the track, shares in a statement. "They sent me a couple of songs and they were all dope but I heard a vision for ‘Anticipation’ immediately. I sent them voice notes of me fiddling with the chords to show them the musical direction and they loved it so I went ahead and did some rough production."

Indie act reon were paired with GRAMMY-nominated producer Xerxes Bakker (who's collaborated with Maroon 5, Snoop Dogg, and Imagine Dragons) for their song 'Back to the Times'.

"They gave me a pure and contemporary indie-pop vibe," Bakker shares. "They have such great voices combined with inspiring lyrics and melodies. Mega talents. We went effortlessly through the song. The aesthetic state of ‘Back To The Times’ gave me so much inspiration. I just needed to enhance the beautiful essence of the demo."

Filipino rapper-songwriter Quest linked with award-winning duo Kuya Productions (who've been credited on music by Christina Aguilera, Alessia Cara, and Jordin Sparks) on his track 'Good Old Days'.

Lastly, Catriona Gray flew out to Australia to hit the studio with producer Cabu for her song 'Love Language', which is set to drop soon.

"This is a new chapter in my life as an artist and I am honored to be a part of Warner Music Philippines’ GLOPM initiative as this movement features aspirational talent of Filipinos in the field of music. ‘Love Language’ is my first foray of songwriting and it felt like such a perfect collaboration to work with Cabu for this single,” Catriona shares about the track.

During a press conference, it was revealed that more artists will be joining the GLOPM roster to deliver more quality music in the near future.

"We are very proud to launch GLOPM as a movement that amplifies and elevates Filipino talent to the global community," WMP Managing Director Sarah Ismail shares. "I believe in the immense talent of Filipino artists and GLOPM is the perfect platform for us to do just that. They deserve global recognition."
