TLC Festival co-headliners IV of Spades talk about their best live music experiences

Presented by TLC Festival.

Seeing your favorite bands live is a euphoric experience no bootleg video online could ever top.

The chemicals in your brain go haywire as you anticipate the first chord your favorite bands strike onstage. Pulses go wild. Screams rise even louder. Then the lights flash and there they are—the act you've been waiting for ruling the stage right before your eyes. You might get a little lightheaded, maybe even cry, but there's nothing more important to you than that moment. And guess what? Even our favorite rockstars get that feeling, too.

After their Singapore concert, IV Of Spades sat down with Bandwagon to talk about their live music experiences—from the first ones they saw, the ones where they shared the stage together, to what you should expect at their upcoming TLC Festival performance with Rico Blanco this weekend.

Tell us about the first concert you attended individually and together as a band.

Zild: Barbie Almalbis and Kitchie Nadal, kasi yung dad ko tumugtog kay Barbie.

Blaster: Ako basta mall show eh. Mall show ata ni Gloc-9. Yun ang naaalala ko.

Badjao: Ako, Bamboo. Sila yung crew (points to Rommel Alipio and Japs Yamsonni Bamboo before.

And together?

Zild, Blaster, Badjao: The 1975.

Zild: July chenes-2015. Naka-leather jacket.

Blaster: Mohawks ka na nun eh.

What's the best concert experience you ever had as performers?

Zild: Oh, that's a hard one.

Badjao: Singapore. Surprised ako kasi ang daming nagpunta kahit nasa abroad.

Blaster: Madaming best eh! Depende anong best—best dahil funny, best dahil maganda yung sound, best dahil malamig.

Zild: Ako siguro...Iloilo ata yun, yung first time namin tumugtog kasama mga bagong kanta namin from the album. Kakaibang experience kung magreresonate ba sa kanila yung mga kanta. Eh 'di yun, kinakanta naman nila yung mga bagong kanta.

Top three bands you'd want to watch one day.

Blaster: One Direction.

Zild: Banda ni Celine Dionhindi si Celine Dion ah, yung banda niya. Sino pa ba...Hans Zimmer live! And Björk.

Blaster: Jackson 4 (pouts).

Zild: Jackson 5 pero four na lang no?

Badjao: Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, atsaka Toto.

Blaster: Magdidisband na yun this year.

Badjao: 'Di ko na sila mapapanuod ever.

Blaster: Unless may manlibre.

Badjao: Oo, Bandwagon.

What should people expect at the TLC Festival with Rico Blanco?

Zild: What would you expect? You expect the worst—I'm just kidding (laughs).

Blaster: Unexpect the expected. We will sing and dance. And (bites into snack).
