March has come and gone, and with it, a slew of incredible live music in Singapore. The month of April, however, is bent on cranking things up to 11 with a live music line-up that isn't to be messed with. Witness the musical greatness of John Mayer, Belinda Carlisle, Sabrina Carpenter, Higher Brothers, iKON, Ed Sheeran, Afrojack, Ibeyi and many more. 

Below, we list the best gigs to catch in Singapore this April. 


JOHN MAYER [SOLD OUT]

When: 1 April 
Where: Singapore Indoor Stadium

BANDWAGON TV

John Mayer made ‘Your Body is a Wonderland’ and he might very well play it before your eyes at his first-ever Singapore show. This is not an April Fool’s day gag – this the result of prayers answered and wishes granted. Equal parts master class and upper-echelon pop entertainment, this show will make a tour de force of an evening.

CONNAN MOCKASIN

When: 3 April
Where: EBX Live Space

New Zealand musician, composer and record producer Connan Mockasin will make his debut appearance in Singapore in April. Leaning towards a more genre-blending, almost-left-field approach, Mockasin's unconventional sound has earned him high praises for all three full-length records, the latest being 2018's Jassbusters. Get ready for a mind-blowing experience.

BELINDA CARLISLE

When: 6 April
Where: The Star Theatre

Legendary pop star Belinda Carlisle will return to Singapore for a very special show this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of her third studio album, Runaway Horses. To mark the momentous occasion, Carlisle will perform Runaway Horses in its entirety along with other smash hits such as 'Circle In The Sand', 'I Get Weak' and 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth'.

MOKSI

When: 6 April
Where: Zouk

Bass house masters Moksi will command the decks at Zouk as part of the club's trap and bass night, Crowd CTRL, this April. The duo are rapidly growing favourites, thanks to its unique style of bass-house and its signing to Yellow Claw's Barong Family label back in 2015. Zouk resident DJs LeNerd and Hong will be supporting.

Cover charges for non-members are $35 (Ladies) and $45 (Men).


Iyaz

When: 6 April
Where: Get Juiced

"Shawty's like a melody in my head that I can't keep out got me singin' like" You heard it right. The mastermind behind the lyrics of the song 'Replay' will be making his debut at Get Juiced in April. He has since released two albums, solidifying his status as a highly celebrated rapper. DJ Jade Rasif will be on the decks to start off the night. Don't miss this incredible showcase.

ANNE-MARIE

When: 9 April
Where: The Capitol Theatre

UK's breakthrough pop star Anne-Marie is back. Just in October of 2018, the infectiously seductive singer stopped by our shores for the very first time for The Speak Your Mind Tour. And to be honest, we couldn't get enough of her body-blasting, chart-topping hits, so, we're glad she's back. We know we're in for a treat.

THUNDERCAT

When: 10 April
Where: The Pavilion @ Far East Square 

The American multi-genre bass guitarist, record producer, singer and songwriter is returning to Asia as part of his DRUNK world tour, that will mark his first show in Singapore since his Laneway Festival 2016 stint.

SABRINA CARPENTER

When: 11 April
Where: Kallang Theatre

American pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter will make her debut in Singapore this April. Bursting onto the scene in 2015 with the release of her debut album, Eyes Wide Open, Carpenter has gone on to amass a strong following, with her 2018 record Singular Act I receiving critical acclaim. Don't miss the chance to catch her.

STILL CORNERS AND MELLOW FELLOW

When: 12 April
Where: EBX Live Space

Symmetry Entertainment is presenting a double bill with British duo Still Corners and Filipino Mellow Fellow. Both are big forces in dream pop and have released full studio albums in the last two years so get ready to immerse yourself in an intense night of dream pop greatness.

TIESTO AND AFROJACK

When: 12 and 13 April
Where: Marquee Singapore

As part of Marquee's opening celebrations, EDM giants Tiesto and Afrojack will head the first weekend of the club's entertainment roster. Nights in the Lion City just got fired up.

SONGKRAN MUSIC FESTIVAL

When: 13 April
Where: Wild Wild Wet

Inspired by Thailand's famous water festival, the inaugural Songkran Music Festival in Singapore is set to kick things off with a splash. Headlining the festival is famed Dutch DJ Quintino and supporting him will be Singaporean DJs Lincey, INQUISITIVE, TINC and LeNERD. Get ready for a wet and wild time.

AlunaGeorge

When: 17 April
Where: Kilo Lounge

Electronic music duo AlunaGeorge will bring its sultry, amalgamated electronic pop sounds to The Lion City for the first-time-ever. Aluna Francis, who tours solo to represent the duo, will be sure to mesmerize audiences with her powerful and sensual vocals against George Reid's masterfully produced sounds. Don't miss this!

WILD NOTHING

When: 18 April
Where: EBX Live Space

American dream-pop/ indie rock band Wild Nothing will perform a slew of hits from its four studio albums, including its latest Indigo, which was released in 2018. The band's debut album, Nocturne, was No. 1 on both the Billboard New Artist and Alternative New Artist charts and also received "Best New Music" from Pitchfork. Singaporean shoegaze band Subsonic Eye will be supporting.

SKECHERS SUNDOWN FESTIVAL 2019

When: 19 to 21 April
Where: Siloso Beach, Sentosa

Skechers Sundown Festival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and its lineup matches the momentous occasion. With over 50 artists from 11 countries, the festival will see some of the biggest local and regional acts to perform on the sandy beaches of Sentosa. And that's not all, film screenings, eco-friendly art installations, glamping, flea markets and a food village will also be available to serve your every need.

STEVE AOKI and ABOVE & BEYOND

When: 19 and 20 April
Where: Marquee Singapore

Twin sisters IBEYI will be gracing the halls of Victoria Theatre with their unique blend of soul, R&B, Jazz and Afro-Cuban instrumentals this April. With two globally acclaimed albums to their name, don't miss this chance to groove with one of the best duos in experimental dance music.


RIMI NATSUKAWA

When: 20 April
Where: Zepp@Big Box

Highly-acclaimed Japanese songbird, Rimi Natsukawa, will celebrate her 20th year anniversary with a special concert. Revered for enchanting vocals and compositional abilities, she has produced numerous tracks in various languages, including her smash hit, ‘Nada Sou Sou’, which has seen renditions from the likes of artists such as Mamamoo and Against The Current. EMILY BURNS

Where: Decline

Up-and-coming pop starlet Emily Burns will be making her way to Singapore. SONS OF AN ILLUSTRIOUS FATHER

When: 25 April
Where: *SCAPE The Ground Theatre

Brooklyn-based trio, consisting of Josh Aubin, Lilah Larson and Hollywood actor Ezra Miller, Sons Of An Illustrious Father, will be making its debut in Singapore in April. Performing a blend of genres from punk rock to experimental, which the band dubbed as "genre queer", the band will be sure to electrify and move audiences with its highly political lyrics.

ED SHEERAN

When: 26 April
Where: National Stadium

Ed Sheeran, the best selling artist of 2017 and the fifth most-streamed artist of 2018, is set to return to Singapore in April of 2019. The performance will follow his two sold-out dates in Singapore last year. The show will also be his largest yet as he performs at the National Stadium for the first time. This time round, he will be supported by Japanese rock band ONE OK ROCK.

Where: Marquee

COSMIC GATE

When: 27 April
Where: Zouk

Progressive trance duo Cosmic Gate will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Zouk this April as part of its Transfix series. With almost 20 years of live performances under its belt, expect a no-holds-barred rager from the illustrious veterans. Come and party with the masters of trance.

THE PROCLAIMERS

When: 29 April
Where: Capitol Theatre

Scottish duo, The Proclaimers, will return to Singapore to perform at The Capitol Theatre. The brothers, who are behind the global classic, ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 miles)’, released their latest album, Angry Cyclist, in August 2018. This will sure to be an enjoyable night filled with fun sing-a-longs for everyone.
